It's what day??? Can't be Oct. 30 already......

Wow!  I have really gotten behind in my blog. I am really going to make the effort to keep it up. The store is going pretty well and I have been busy teaching classes and making items.  Two of the items I have made have been a storage tower for my Distress Ink Pads and a storage tower for the Distress Ink Refills.  I saw the tower for the pads on a Ustream series by Scrap n Share. This is the link to the Ustream channel http://www.ustream.tv/channel/scrap-n-share .

After completing this I decided I needed something for the refills so I didn't have to pick up and look at every bottle when I needed one. So this is what I made.  Both of these are covered with Tim Holtz "Lost and Found" papers.

Now I need to make something to hold my Distress Stains.

I have been trying to organize the store and have it look a little neater.  Maybe when Halloween is over and I can take some of that stuff home it will help along with creating some storage for item that need to be at the store.

Well I think this is all for the night, I think I am getting the cold that has been going around.

What happened to June???

I didn't realize it has been over a month since I last posted.  I have been staying pretty busy with classes at Behind the Turquoise Door, I am teaching Copic marker, card making and technique classes.  I am teaching at least two separate classes each week, so it takes some prep time.

I am working on a new Halloween album using Graphic 45 Happy Hauntings paper. Love, love, love this paper!!! I will post pictures when I get the album finished.  I also am working on some A2 cards for the Carlsbad Downtown Farmer's Market, I got juried in so I will begin having a booth there on Sat. mornings from 8-11 am.  When I get those finished I will post some pictures.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and an even greater weekend.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!

I finished my first week at my new store, Behind the Turquoise Door, it was a great week and I plan on having many, many more weeks like this one. I was only open for 5 days this week (I had to go to Roswell for a tax seminar on Friday).

I completed four cards this week, which will be for upcoming Copic classes, and started an album, I hope to have the album completed the early part of this week.

I have scheduled my first Copic marker class for Mon., July 9, it will be a day class (I will post the time soon) and I will be having the same class on Thur., July 12 at 5:30 for anyone who wants an evening class.  If you want to learn to use Copic markers the image on this card will be easy to do and it doesn't take many markers. When you leave the class you will have a completed card.

If you are interested in taking the class and you need the Copic markers, please come by the store at 121 S. Canal Ste. B or call 575-706-3447 before Friday, June 29 so I can order the markers you will need.  If you would like to see the cards for upcoming classes, drop by Behind the Turquoise Door any time Mon.-Sat. 10 am to 6 pm.

I also will be teaching album and technique classes and I have some completed albums for sale, so if you need a mini album come by and see what I have,

I hope everyone has a safe Father's Day.

Behind the Turquoise Door

It's getting closer and closer!!  I wanted to post a picture of my new front door.  I am opening Monday 6/11(wow that's tomorrow).  I will be a work in progress for a while, I am still waiting on my printer, some of my back ordered merchandise and I am working on getting everything organized (is that ever done?).  But I am super excited!!

If you are looking for me on Canal St., I am in Suite B of the Oakley Financial bldg. I have the turquoise door in a very brown bldg. I am facing Kymera's physicians offices.

I am also listed on the Copic website http://dealer.copicmarker.com/stores so if you can only get here on the web check out this link.

So if you are looking for Copic Sketch markers or anything related to Copics or scrapbooking, come by and check me out.  If I don't have what you need, chances are I can get it.

Very soon, I plan on getting back into entering challenges and teaching classes, so I should be posting more regularly.

Happy Friday!

I just wanted to post a quick note.  I hope to open Behind the Turquoise Door on Monday 6/11.  I have the door painted, my sign will be finished today, my chairs finally arrived, most of my shipments are in (some things are on back order), I am still waiting on my printer and cash box, I still need to get some of my personal things moved and I have to wait until I find out if I have jury duty or not on Monday. All in all I am very pleased with how things are shaping up.
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend.

Good Morning!

I know that it has been a while since I posted but it has been a little hectic here.

I finally found a building to lease to open up my store.  Behind the Turquoise Door  will be at 121 S. Canal Suite B.  I leased the building on Thur. 5/18 and started moving some things over the weekend. I probably won't get much done this week with my Mother-in-law's memorial service on Thur., family starting to come in on Tue., Memorial Day weekend coming up and the CARS Club show on 6/2.

I am hoping to be open by the second week of June and hope to begin teaching classes that week or the next.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Memorial Day.
Hugs,
Delo
