Happy New Year 2018!!!

Happy January 1, 2018. I wonder how long it will take me to get used to writing 2018 and not 2017, probably a while.

Happy New Year!!!

Well, I'm not sure what happened to 2017 but it is almost 2018.  The Journey Holiday Mini catalog will be ending on the 31st, that is tomorrow. If there is anything you want. please be sure you get it ordered. The new Bloom This Way mini catalog will be starting on Jan.1, there are a lot of spring and Easter items in this catalog. I will have a link here on the blog to the Bloom This Way beginning on Jan.1

The classes at the North Mesa Senior Recreation Center are going good even through the holidays. Our next class will be on Wed. Jan. 3 at 10:00 am. We are going to start the Peony calendar card, we will be doing this card over a two week period. This will give us time to color the peonies in one class and the other one to put the calendar together and finish the card. This card will fit in a standard A2 envelope and can be mailed. Here is the front of the card.

And the back of the card. You have a place on the back to write a note.

 

After this card we will be doing a more masculine type of a calendar card. That will also be a two week class. This is the front of the card. I will post more on this later.

Christmas cards

I have been coloring images and making cards the last couple of days. Here are two with snowmen on them. The stamps are from Fun Stampers Journey in the Journey Holidays Trends mini catalog, the stamp set is Snowmen Days SS-0519, $20.95 and if you don't like fussy cutting there is a bundle with  stamps and dies, BD-0292, $34.10. The cardstock colors on the first one are Banana Cream CS-0087and Watermelon Fusion CS-0039 and Mirror Silver CS-0137. I used the Doily die DI-0105, Snow Blooms die DI-0253, Watermelon Fusion ink IP-0027 and Special Day Organza Ribbon AC-0316.
Not your traditional colors for Christmas but I love how these look.

The second card is done with the same stamp and die set Snowmen Days and the Snow Blooms dies.  The colors are Pool Play CS-0092, Whip Cream CS-0040 and Lavender Fusion CS-0028. Again not your typical Christmas colors but I love it. I also used Whip Cream ink IP-0009 for the snowflakes and sentiment and Journey White embossing powder IP-0098, Sparkle Silk IP-0126 and Special Day Organza Ribbon AC-0316.

Card class on Nov. 15

We will be having one more card class before Thanksgiving on November 15 at 10:00am at the North Mesa Senior Recreation Center. We are going to be doing a Christmas card with non-traditional colors, black and white.

Class card on Nov. 8

Hello all,
This is the card we will be making in class at the North Mesa Senior Recreation Center on Wednesday, November 8 from 10:00am til 12:00 noon. We will be using colored pencils to color the images and gold embossing powder on vellum to make the Thanksgiving card.

We will be using Fun Stampers Journey stamp set Bountiful Thanks, SS-0531 available in the Journey Holidays mini catalog.
As always bring your tools and supplies for making the card, paper trimmer, scissors, pop dots, tape runner, glue, colored pencils, etc.
