BOO!

I finally got a card finished and wanted to get it posted tonight. Tomorrow I will be in town most of the day so I won't have time.

I am going to enter this in the following challenges:
Papertake Weekly Challenge -Dies to die for
Totally Gorjuss -As you like it

This image is Witch Emma in digital. She is colored on Cryogen cardstock with Copic markers.
The card base is an old SU color and the patterned paper is some I have had in my stash for several years and it was not labeled on the back with the name. I die cut all of the roses except the last one on each end, they were cut with the Sizzix 3-D Flowers Bigz die, the foliage is a Sizzlits Leaf and Branch, the fence is Sizzix Spooky Fence, the spider web is a Sizzlit die from the Spider set. The BOO! is cut with Sizzix Hunky Dory Sizzlits strip alphabet.  The roses are cut from Coredinations that is black and orange, SU purple and black. The rose buds are pieces of the smaller of the flowers from the 3D die.  I put Black Diamond Stickles on BOO! and Crystal Stickles on the edges of the rose petals.

I did not write down the markers I used or I can't find the list of markers I used on this image. I think I may have the beginnings of CRS. If I find the list I will post the colors of Copics used.

I hope everyone has a great Tuesday and I will be back on Thursday!

Delo

Thank you to my class participants in Roswell!

Well, I still do not have a card to post since I have been working on other things.  My card class in Roswell went well, there were 5 students, everyone was eager to learn and did a great job on coloring the image.  They chose not to finish the card but take the other stamped images home and practice coloring before adding the image to the card.  I want to thank every one of the ladies who attended and made Saturday such a fun time.  I look forward to getting together again.

One of the other things I have been working on is finishing the coloring page for the Copic intermediate certification, I completed all of the paperwork along with the coloring and submitted it over the weekend.  This morning I received an e-mail from Nancy at Copic.  I have been accepted in the class on Oct. 16, in Sacramento, CA.   Wooohooo!!     I am so excited about taking this, Debbie Olson will be the instructor for this and I love her work.  I have been following her blog (Thinking Inking) since I stumbled on it several months ago.

An update on my hubby.  He is still having some pain but his leg and ankle are doing much better. Thanks to everyone who asked and sent their regards to him.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day (even if it's Monday), I will try to post a card later today or tomorrow.  If that doesn't happen it will be at least Thursday since I will be in Lubbock at the endonologist Wednesday.

Delo

Wish me luck!

Well, it's already Friday. I don't have a card or anything to post but wanted to update on my hubby's ankle. The doctor said he is getting flat footed. The arch support has fallen and the tendons and ligaments are being stretched and pulling away from the bone. He is wearing a brace and has to have arch supports in all of his shoes plus he can't go barefooted anymore (like he ever did). He will go back in a month to see how the brace and supports are working and if not then they will try something else. While we were there he scheduled is bi-lateral knee replacements for Dec. 13. Dr. Baca is going to do this.

Tomorrow is my first class for Copics. I did not get as many students as I would like to have had but right now I know there will be 5. There may be some walk-ins so I may have a couple more. I hope with this class size to be able to give some one on one instructions, so maybe this is a good thing.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and I hope to have something to post before the weekend is over.
Hugs,
Delo

Yeah!! It's Saturday!

I went to Roswell yesterday to check on the sign-up sheet for the Copic Card Class I am teaching next Saturday and no one had signed up yet. However, I spoke with one of the Hobby Lobby part-time employees who asked if I would teach as few as 5. I relented and told her yes since she has already bought the markers for the class. With the 5 from Roswell and 2 from Carlsbad I should have a good class.

I have another card to share today that I will be entering in the following challenges:
Sketch and Stash -Sketch
PaperPlay Challenge -Recipe 3 different embellishments, 2 patterned papers, 1 lace
A Spoon Full of Sugar -Happy Birthday
Papertake Weekly Challenge -Bingo Gems, Button, Free (flowers)
Copic Creations -Blue-Greens
Magnolia Stamp Lovers -Flowers

This is a Magnolia image Tilda with Love Letter. She is colored on Cryogen cardstock with Copic markers.
All of the cardstock and patterned papers are from my stash and old enough I do not remember what company made them. The flowers are all Primas all from my stash. The punch is MS doily lace, the foliage is a die from Magnolia.
I colored this image before I knew to write down my color numbers. The only one I know for certain is the heart shaped gem was colored with R37 and her hair bows have Turquiose Stickles on them. The Birthday Wishes stamp is an old SU greeting stamp, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I hope everyone's weekend is great!

Friendship or Unconditional Love?

Hi all,
It's Thursday (I had to look at the calendar to see what day of the week it is) and this has been another fast and furious week. Monday was just manic with my husband off, Tuesday was the day for the groomer (it took about 2 hours longer than usual), Wednesday was a Lubbock, TX day to see doctors, I  had an appointment at 11:15 with the dermatologist, then lunch, then a 2:00 appointment with the eye specialist for my husband (this is always 2-2 1/2 hours) then home around 6:00. I was supposed to go to Roswell on Monday to check on sign-ups for my class but that is going to happen tomorrow. Honestly, I just don't know how I had time to work LOL.

I have a card to post today for
CMC Copic Challenge Group -Color embellishment with Copics and Friendship theme

I used a Mo Manning digital image Bronte Kisses, colored on Cryogen cardstock.
I used Copics to color the image but I did not write them down but here is a picture of the markers I used. There are about 40 markers.
My card base is an old SU color YoYo Yellow, the patterned papers are Sizzix Little Sizzles. I used the new Tim Holtz mini rosettes die to make the flowers (??) and some heart shaped gems colored with Y18 and YR 65 for the center of the flowers and the hearts floating on the card.

The rosettes are inked with (small) Old Paper Distress ink and (large) Dried Marigold Distress ink the large one is also stamped with Old Paper Distress ink and an old SU stamp Cherished. I used an EK Success corner rounder.

This is a close up of the colored image. I think this should be called Unconditional Love.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the day and the weekend is coming fast.
Hugs,
Delo

Monday What a Great Day!!

Well, I found out today I was one of the Top 3 from the Sketch and Stash Challenge that ended this week. Woohoo!! I was very surprised to find out. Thank you Sketch and Stash and Thank You Cathy!

I have another project to post today to
DPS Challenge -Anything but a Card
Papertake Weekly Challenge -Grow Your Own

It is not a card but a match box I made with a Sizzix Big Shot Pro die, it is approximately 5 1/4" by 3 1/2". I really like this die. The flowers are also a Sizzix Bigz die 3D Flowers (not the pro die) and the foliage is a Sizzlits die.

The image is a Mo's Digital Pencil image, Shy Valentine Nessa, she is stamped on Cryogen cardstock and colored with Copics.
This shows the box with the inside pulled out. I added a butterfly punched with an EK Success three step punch and put Star Dust and Cinnamon Stickles on the top and middle punch outs. The pp is All Seasons by The Paper Studio, cardstock is old SU Passion Pink, the ribbon is SU white organza, red and green cardstocks are from my stash.
Nessa is colored with Copics, skin E000, E00, E21, R20; hair B32, C3, C7, C9; heart R22, R24, R27, R29; dress R81, R83, blender; lace, ribbon, bow C00, C1; shoes C00, C1, C3, C5; socks R81, blender. I added Glossy Accents to her shoes and heart hair ties and Star Dust Stickles to her ruffles.
I added Diamond Stickles to the roses on the inside and the sentiment is stamped with an SU stamp and heat embossed with SU clear embossing powder over Stampabilities Real Red pigment ink. These are all made with the Sizzix 3D Flower die. For the rosebud I just used a portion of the cut out and cut some green to go around it. I adhered the rosebud to the foliage, it is raised on the end.
This is a close up of the front of the box.
This is both parts of the box. It looks a little wonky on here, not sure why, maybe the photographer.

Well that's it for today. I hope everyone has had a great Monday and will have a great rest of the week.
I will try to get another project posted this week but I have to go back to Lubbock this week for a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and then to Roswell on Thursday to see if anyone has signed up for the class on August 27.
Hugs,
Delo

Where has the week gone?

I am posting a card I completed this week. It is not for any challenges but I wanted to get this one completed and up before the weekend. I probably will not post again until Monday since I will be going to Lubbock tomorrow to take a friend to the doctor. We will be staying the night and come home on Friday but I don't know how late. Then on Saturday I will be going to Roswell to check on my display at Hobby Lobby and to see if anyone has expressed any interest in taking the class.

This is Grog he is mate to Uggabugga. He is a Tiddly Inks digital image. I love this since the local high school team is the Cavemen. I originally bought the individual Uggabugga and Grog images but I am going to buy the set they have available with a cave background, the two figures as a couple and some other images.

I used the same Bo Bunny paper Wild Thing Tiger Stripe as on Uggabugga, Coredinations cardstock from the Black Magic pad and some brown cardstock. I tried to make this look like a cave with cave art on the back wall. I lightly dampened the cardstock and crumpled it up then on the Coredinations after smoothing it out slightly and letting it dry I sanded so the lighter color would show through. On the brown after drying I inked with Cat Eye chalk ink in dark brown and charcoal. The stamps are really old and I do not remember the name or brand.

Grog is colored on Cryogen cardstock with Copic markers, skin E000, E00, E02, E11; hair E31, E35, E37; clothes Y23, YR24, YR31, W00; spots E31, E35; club E43, E44, E47; and coloreless blender. I fussy cut Grog out (what a chore on his hair and the hair on his arms and legs) and pop dotted him on the card. The rocks are also pop dotted in the center and glued along the edges.

Well, I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and a terrific weekend.

Hugs,
Delo

Good Afternoon Everyone (except on the West Coast it isn't afternoon yet)!

I wasn't going to post again today but since I have a slight migraine and do not want to be out in the heat I decided to stay in and do something constructive. Tomorrow I am going to teach a class at the Senior Circle. This is a group of over 55 ladies who are learning to scrapbook. Most of the classes are taught by the LSS owner, a SU demonstrator or a CM demonstrator but no one is available so I was asked to teach a technique to the ladies. I am really looking forward to this, it has been a while since I taught anything.

I am enter the following challenges:
Paper Play Challenges -Christmas in August
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything goes

This is a Magnolia stamp Santa's Helper Edwin, he is colored on Cryogen cardstock with Copic markers.

The card is on SU cardstock Green Galore, Turquoise and Lovely Lilac. The patterned paper is Bo Bunny (I used both sides of two sided papers and a chipboard element tree), a Martha Stewart punch Snowflakes (??) and I do not know who makes the bling snowflakes. I used Marvy Liquid Applique and Stardust Stickles on Edwin's fur trim. The tag is an EK Success punch and the sentiment is hand written.
Edwin is colored with Copics. Skin E000, E00, E11, R20; hair E35, YR 23, Y23: hat, pants and jacket B0000, B000, B00, B01; boots and belt C1, C3, C5, C7 : whites C00, C1. I used a Sharpie Extra Fine Point white poster paint pen for the white highlights.

Hope everyone has a great weekend (well, it's almost here)!

Delo

Happy Hump Day!!

I have been working on getting a Copic class together and it finally came together yesterday. I have been to the Hobby Lobby in Roswell several times to get this going and yesterday I spoke with the managers who okayed it so..... On August 27 at 10:00 am I will teach my first class, if I get enough students to make the class. I have several ladies here in Carlsbad who want to take the class so I have a head start on getting enough students. Woohooo!!!

I'm posting a card I completed Monday for:
Sketch and Stash -Sketch

This image is Uggabugga from Tiddly Inks. I love this, the local high school teams are the Cavemen and Cavegirls. I colored her on Cryogen cardstock with Copic markers.

I am working on coloring Grogg the caveman image now and will post as soon as possible. Uggabugga is colored with Copics. Skin E000, E00, E02, R20; hair E25, E29, E31; clothes YR14, YR15, YR16, E25 (spots); bone E43, E50. The cardstock is a mixture from my stash some is SU, CM and unknown. The patterned paper is older Bo Bunny Gone Wild Cheetah and Gone Wild Tiger. I used iRock gems in black and iridescent (on her left hand), Wild Orchid Crafts roses and rose leaves, Nestabilities Large and Small Standard Circles, swirls are a Magnolia die and she has a coating of platinum Stickles on her hair bone.

I colored her skin with different colors than I normally use. I have been having some issues with my cardstock glazing over so I am trying different things. I have even changed the nib on some of my markers and that seems to help the most. I wonder if using the SU Whisper White when I first got my Copics might be the problem.

Well, have a great rest of the week!
Hugs,
Delo
