HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Well, I am just getting this posted on Halloween.  I almost finished this today  (I still need to add some journaling lines on the tags) but I wanted to get it posted. This is a mini made out of toilet tissue rolls.  This is something I have been wanting to try and decided Halloween would be a good holiday for this.

The paper for this album is the Studio G Halloween line from Walmart, I also used a set of chipboard stickers and brads from the same line.  The 3-d stickers are a set I picked up at Walmart also.  The cardstock and ribbons are from my stash.  I also used some MS punches, Spiderweb punch around the page and Scary fence, WRMK corner chompers Stub/Deco and Cloud/Scallop.  I also used the TH Tattered Florals die, a small spider and bat punch from EK Success, I think.  The bling is Studio G that is colored with Copic markers to match each page.  I used 1" binder rings for holding the album together.

This is the front cover, it's chipboard covered with paper, inked with TH Old Paper Distress Ink and then I added a sticker.  All pages and tags are inked with Old Paper or Frayed Burlap Distress Inks.

This is the inside cover and page 1 with tag.

Pages 2 and 3 with tag.

Pages 4 and 5 with tag.

Pages 6 and 7 with tag.

Pages 8 and 9 with tag.

Pages 10 and 11 with tag.

Pages 12 and 13 with tag.

Pages 14 and 15 with tag.

Page 16 and inside back cover.

I added Stardust Stickles to the spiderwebs on the back cover.

I will have another Halloween mini album to post soon, I have to upload and edit all of the pictures first.

My class in Lubbock, TX was a very good class.  I only had 4 students so each one got a lot of individualized attention and the next one is scheduled for Nov. 17.  We will be working on reds this time.  If anyone is interested in attending, please contact me and I will provide the details.

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

The weekend

It's been a while so I thought I would let everyone know what I have been up to. I got back from Sacramento on Wed. 10/20 around 11:00 pm (what an awesome class with Debbie Olson).  On Thursday I had to catch up on laundry and try to get some things done in town (when I go to town it usually turns into an all day thing) plus I needed to cook something to take for the weekend.  Friday I had to get packed for the weekend crop at Black River. I really love going to Black River, it is a weekend crop where you stay in dormitories, you can crop as late as you want or get up as early as you want, you don't need to put things away for the night, you can crop in pjs, really just whatever you want to do. The atmosphere is very relaxed, no challenges, no pressure just a very fun and usually educational weekend (also very chatty you get to visit with people you only see twice a year).

On Monday it was back to reality, get bills paid, finish the laundry, go buy groceries, etc., etc. Then the rest of this week I have been getting everything ready to take to Lubbock for my Copic class. I have been stamping images, deciding which Copics to take (this is not an easy task for me), packing again (almost like for a crop).

Today I will be helping my husband get ready to take a trip on the trike with his oldest daughter (the one we brought back from CA).  Fri. morning they are going over to Deming to see the middle daughter and her children.  Plus we are taking the '47 Chevy in to have the front suspension replaced, it has the original suspension now and we are updating to a newer one.  The car is coming along very slowly but we are making progress

I will be posting the pictures of what I worked on at Black River as soon as I find the camera and can get the images downloaded from the card.

Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and weekend.

Copic Intermediate Certification

We left Sacramento this morning.  What a lot of traffic but in my opinion so worth it for the Copic Intermediate Certification.  The class with Debbie Olson was awesome, she is one amazing lady and instructor.  The class was smaller than the Standard Certification class I took.  It was just the right size for some individual attention.  I can't wait to get back home and use some of the techniques we learned. This is an amazing class for more in-depth use of Copic markers for the artistic side.  It was well worth all of the traffic and the 3,000 mile round trip to take it.

We will be home sometime Wed., so I will be able to go to Black River for the weekend crop.  I have most everything packed and ready to go, just need to make something to take to share for Sat. lunch.

I hope your week is going well. See you again soon.

Happy Columbus Day!!!

I don't have any new projects to post today. However it's been almost a week since I posted and didn't want to wait until I get back the middle of next week.

This has been a crazy two weeks. First I have a ferret that had some mass cell tumors removed week before last, I had to take him in to have the sutures removed on Tues. I also had to take the Yorkie to be groomed so I loaded both of them in the car at the same time (big mistake since they do not get along, both are males). I don't know which one was the noisiest but I sure was glad to drop the Yorkie at the groomers. I got the ferret to the vet's got the sutures removed and started home when the groomer called to say Willie was ready to be picked up, so I turned around and went back to town to get Willie. I had a repeat performance with the two of them on the way home. On Wed. I took Willie back to the vet's, he has been having seizures and the Dr. wanted to do blood work so I spent most of the day in town (got nothing done at home).  He is now taking phenobarbital and will be for the rest of his life.

In the mean time my hubby is having problems with his pickup and I am running into town to pick him up or take him to pick up the truck. This has been going on all week too. Along with trying to get everything ready to go to CA for the Intermediate Copic Certification on Sunday 10/16 ( I am so excited), then we are going to Stockton (50 miles from Sacramento) to get one of our daughters to come visit for a while. As soon as I get home from CA, I have a weekend crop at Black River to go to, so I am trying to get everything ready for that. I had to order some of the things I need for my projects and a lot of that will come in on Tues. or sometime after we leave on Thur.  We will be back on Wed. of next week so, this will be a fast and furious trip but this certification is the most convenient for me.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Columbus Day!
See you next week.

Happy October!!!

I love the month of October, it's the sputtering start of fall here, we have cool mornings (usually high 50's or low 60's) then the afternoons are still reaching in the mid to high 90's so that doesn't feel too much like fall. Then there is Halloween to look forward to, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday since, on this one day, you can be anybody or anything you want to be and it's okay.

I have an new card today I am entering this in the following challenge:

Totally Gorjuss -Sketch

The image is one of Kenny K's Steampunk girls, Briana Blaster, she is digital and printed on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored with Copic markers. The card is made using a K&Co. collection, LIfe's Journey. I have used both sides of the printed cardstock for this. I love the printing on the paper under the image it reads "Friends of Soldiers" just below the pearl swirl.

This is a picture of the Copics I used on this image. There are a lot of them. I also used several Spicas on her, Silver, Turquoise and Sand. I also used Glossy Accents on her goggles, pistol grip and the tank.

I love these Steampunk images, they work so well with a lot of the Tim Holtz products. I hand cut the oval and inked the edge with TH Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, the edges of the other papers have been distressed and inked with Old Paper Distress Ink. The Inspire tag is TH, the twine is from my stash. The pearls are Kaisercraft and have been colored with Copic BG13.

I hope everyone is enjoying the day and has a great rest of the weekend!
